Red Ribbon Week is an annual drug prevention campaign observed in the United States, during the last week of October. It was established in honor of Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a DEA agent who was killed in 1985 while investigating drug cartels in Mexico. The campaign's purpose is to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to encourage youth to make healthy, drug-free choices.
