SEPAG
Parent Advisory Meetings
Come join other parents as we provide a place to learn, advocate and support one another on our journey through the world of special education. Hear from speakers, access current information, and network with others.
The New Jersey Administrative Code indicates that the Board of Education shall establish a parent advisory group in order to provide input to the district concerning students with disabilities NJAC 6A:14-1.2 (h). The purpose of this group is to provide opportunities for parents and community members to provide input to the Penns Grove-Carneys Point Regional School District on critical issues relating to students with disabilities. Input from parents, professionals and other stakeholders are essential to ensure that we continue to improve our efforts in educating all students for future success.
The Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) works throughout the school year to plan and schedule meetings that encompass presentations, resources, and opportunities to network regarding all aspects of special education. We continually seek out feedback to determine needs and plan for future topics for SEPAG meetings. Formats are varied to afford all parents opportunities to join in; these formats include daytime and evening meeting schedules, virtual and in-person offerings at various school buildings.
The START- Engaging Parents of Students with Disabilities Project at SPAN invites you to join us at the upcoming Statewide Special Education Parent Leadership Virtual Roundtable.
This is an opportunity for parents, Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) members, school and district staff, and community members to come together to network and exchange tips, tools, and strategies to build collaborative partnerships that benefit students and their families. Simultaneous interpretation into Spanish is available.
The Equal Opportunity Support Services will present "Transitioning to DDD Service." Interested participants may register to attend. Simply click here and complete the Google form.
